Prep Enrolments

Deciding when your child should enter Prep is an important decision and requires careful consideration of what is in the best educational interests for your child. A child's readiness for school plays a significant role in their long-term learning, wellbeing and success throughout their schooling journey.

Prep Eligibility

In Queensland, it is compulsory for children to complete Prep prior to progressing to Year 1. Your child is eligible to enrol in Prep at Holy Cross Primar School Wooloowin if they turn five [5] years of age by 30 June in the year of intended enrolment. In certain circumstances, early or delayed entry to Prep may be considered where it is deemed to be in the best educational interest of the child. Holy Cross Wooloowin follows the Queensland Department of Education guidelines, in alignment with Brisbane Catholic Education, when considering all applications for early or delayed entry.
