Why did you decide to become a teacher?
I became a teacher because I love learning and wanted to foster this love for future generations.

How long have you been teaching?
I went straight from high school into a Bachelor of Education at ACU. It has been 7.5 years since I finished my degree, with this being the third school I've taught at.

Why did you decide to join Holy Cross?
My family has been a part of this community for a long time. My Grandparents started coming to the parish in the 1970s when they moved to Brisbane. My parents were even married in the Holy Cross Church in 1989. A younger cousin of mine attended here and I also did my final university placement here in 2015. In 2015, I was so lucky to be immersed in the culture of Holy Cross and I always knew one day I’d be back.

What’s your favourite part of the day as a teacher?
My favourite time of the day is when I am teaching Maths to the children. I love getting to use all the great hands-on resources to consolidate new mathematical concepts.

Do you have any teachers who inspired you?
My grade 3 teacher Ms O’Gorman was so passionate and inspired my love for learning.

What’s your favourite food/treat?
Pizza for sure.

Do you have any pets?
A black cat named Elsie.

Do you have any hobbies/favourite places to visit in your spare time?
I love to visit the Sunshine Coast as often as possible. I stay with family in Marcoola and it is my favourite place for spending time with loved ones. I also do Ballet classes and they are always a highlight of my week.

What are three goals (personal or professional) for this year?

1. Becoming a part of my new school community and getting to know students and their families.

2. Spending time outdoors whether it be taking the classroom outside or going for more walks in my neighbourhood.

3. Learning from my students how to teach them best.
